Background
Dubai Chambers discussed with its Shanghai counterpart, the Shanghai Federation of Industry and Commerce (SFIC), ways to enhance Dubai-China business ties. The idea was to determine how to increase the likelihood of trade between the two locations. The goal of the discussions was to foster business contacts between enterprises from both markets, and also opportunities for development through cooperation.
These talks took place during a Dubai Chambers of Commerce delegation to the Shanghai Federation of Industry and Commerce. The parties discussed the possibilities to improve institutional cooperation and involve Dubai and Chinese businesses. They also discussed how to support Chinese companies on the plans to expand their business operations in other regions through Dubai.
Dubai Chambers of Commerce noted a number of advantages that make Dubai a great business hub for conducting international business, including favorable business climate and infrastructure in the emirate. Opportunities in priority sectors and how to promote two-way investment and broadened business relationships were also discussed.
Dubai Chambers continues to work towards enhancing long-term business links between Dubai and China and continues to assist Chinese companies to take advantage of Dubai’s global ranking as a business and trade hub. The discussions also sought to promote increased trade and investment between the two markets.
During the meeting, the update on the Dubai Business Forum – China held in Shenzhen in the second week of October was discussed. This forum will provide an opportunity to connect with businesses, investors and policymakers to generate investment opportunities, develop trade linkages, and establish business partnerships.
During the forum, there will be opportunities to make contacts with businesses from both countries and an opportunity to extend business networks as well.
