Background

Google has introduced AI Mode, its most powerful search upgrade to date, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), with access beginning in the UAE this week. The new search feature is based on the Gemini 2.5 model, which enables Google to think and respond to precise, multistep queries. Instead of conducting several separate searches, users can now get comprehensive answers in one go.

Google said AI Mode is expected to make daily tasks easier. In the UAE, this may involve tasks such as comparing new smartphone models, organizing travel within the Emirates, or executing detailed instructions from just one request. Early testing shows that users are submitting questions that are two to three times longer than a normal search.

The tool is also multimodal, letting people interact in different ways. Users can type a question, speak through the microphone, or upload a photo to ask about what they see.

An important characteristic of AI Mode is the query fan-out system. This method breaks a single complicated question into smaller parts, searches them all at once, and then brings back detailed results. According to Google, this ensures access to a wider range of information and perspectives compared with traditional search.

It will be presented as a separate tab on the Google Search results page and on both Android and iOS in the Google app. The rollout will begin in the UAE and gradually extend across other MENA countries.

With the introduction of AI Mode, Google wants to change online search forever and make it more intelligent and in tune with the needs of the user. The relocation also indicates how the company wants to remain at the top in the emerging technology of AI-powered technology.
