Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, has issued two Executive Council resolutions appointing new sector chief executives at the Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority. He issued the resolutions in his capacity as Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai.
Under Executive Council Resolution No. 55 of 2026, Adel Abdullah Mohammed Al Karani moves from Dubai Municipality to take on the role of Chief Executive Officer of the Biodiversity Sector at the authority.
A separate resolution, Executive Council Resolution No. 56 of 2026, sees Abdullah Yousuf Abdullah Al Marzouqi seconded from Dubai Police to serve as Chief Executive Officer of the Corporate Support Sector.
Both appointees step into leadership roles that support the Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority’s wider mandate, which spans biodiversity protection, climate policy and institutional support functions across the emirate’s environmental agenda. Their combined experience across municipal and security institutions is expected to bring fresh operational depth to the authority’s growing portfolio.
