Background

The UAE is set to launch a new artificial intelligence–powered trade platform to strengthen its position as a global trade hub. The Ministry of Foreign Trade has signed an agreement with Presight, an Abu Dhabi–based AI solutions company and part of the G42 group, to develop the Ministry of Foreign Trade AI Platform.

The platform will be integrated across all core functions of the Ministry as part of its goal to become the world’s first fully AI-driven trade ministry. It will analyse millions of data points in real time, including information from ports, shipping routes, customs records, trade agreements, and international regulations.

The platform will use advanced data analysis to help governments and businesses predict trade problems and find new growth opportunities. It will also support traders by simplifying access to rules and market entry requirements across different countries. AI-based services such as smart certificates of origin will further improve trade efficiency.

The platform will give policymakers better tools to analyze trade, help them win better trade deals, cut delays, make decisions faster, and move goods across borders more quickly.

The Ministry of Foreign Trade AI Platform is one of eight strategic pillars under the UAE Global Centre of Trade programme. The programme was launched in November last year by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to expand the UAE’s role as a global gateway for goods and services and open new markets for exports.

Minister of Foreign Trade Dr Thani Al Zeyoudi said artificial intelligence can transform trade by replacing slow, manual processes with real-time insights. Presight leaders said the platform will enhance speed, resilience, and trust across supply chains.

The signing ceremony was attended by Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs.
