Background
The fifth and largest edition of Make it in the Emirates opened in Abu Dhabi in the first week of May, with 120,000 visitors expected over four days. Held under the theme ‘Advanced Industry. Emerging Stronger, the forum brings together around 1,200 exhibitors across 88,000 sq m at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, covering 12 priority industries including advanced manufacturing, aerospace, defence, pharmaceuticals, energy, and mobility.
This shows the robust industrial performance of the UAE, which saw the country’s industrial GDP grow by 70% from 2021, while exports doubled from AED 135 billion to reach AED 262 billion. The week will see significant agreements made between government entities, state-owned companies, international organizations, and local businesses.
Several projects will be launched by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) to boost industrial resilience, with the most recent being the new iteration of the In-Country Value (ICV) Program, which has already pumped back AED 473 billion into the economy.
This edition introduces four experiential hubs. The Intelligence Hub is a 1,400-sq-m technology showcase covering AI, robotics, drones, electric vehicles, and smart manufacturing. The Industry NextGen Hub helps SMEs and start-ups, which make up 61% of the exhibitors, through pitching events, introductions to investors, and supply chain links. The Quality Hub aids factories in obtaining international accreditations. The House of Industry is an interactive display that offers a journey through the industrial history of the UAE, from early trading practices to current industrial manufacturing processes.
The conference is organized by MoIAT, in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, ADIO, ADNOC, and L’IMAD.
