Background

Sustain Labs Paris (SLP) has joined hands with the Dubai World Trade Centre to organize the Expand North Star Green Impact segment at GITEX 2025, the world’s largest technology and startup event. Scheduled from October 12 to 15, 2025, at Dubai Harbour, the event will bring together global innovators working on climate and sustainability solutions.

The Green Impact program offers an exclusive, invitation-only opportunity for 20 pioneering startups to display their breakthrough ideas. The participants will have access to more than 1,000 investors and 500 corporates, and will have exposure and possible collaborations. One of the events that is a major draw is the Sustainability Leaders Pitch Competition, which has a US$10,000 cash prize and a chance to be mentored by professionals.

It will also award the Top 40 Most Sustainable Companies in the Arab Region, an initiative that was announced on June 2, 2025, by H.E. Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi. The list was developed through a year-long study conducted by SLP, the CSO Network, and the Posterity Institute, evaluating firms across 19 sustainability performance indicators.

“Dubai has become a strong global hub for innovation. Our continued partnership with the Dubai World Trade Centre helps climate startups scale real-world solutions,” said Dr. Miniya Chatterji, CEO of SLP.

Three top startups from the program will gain expansion support in the UAE through the Innovation Expand platform and scholarships for SLP’s Climate Leadership Certificate Program. The event will also introduce Youth Education Microgrants to support young innovators aged 10–21 in building community-based sustainability projects.
