Background

Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy has supported the development and market launch of 32 new mobile applications through its Create Apps Accelerator Programme, marking a significant step in turning early ideas into fully functioning apps and strengthening the emirate’s wider innovation ecosystem.

Operating as one of three chambers under Dubai Chambers, the entity runs the accelerator to support high potential startups linked to the Create Apps Championship.

Artificial intelligence features in 60 per cent of the apps launched this year, a figure that reflects growing adoption of advanced technology among private sector innovators in Dubai.

The accelerator runs as a 45 day intensive tech sprint, guiding founders from early concept through to a launch ready product. This year’s cohort drew participants from 22 countries spanning 13 different sectors, who worked through structured milestones to build functional prototypes for both iOS and Android before preparing their apps for release on the App Store and Google Play.

Mentorship played a central role, with the programme delivering more than 170 hours of one on one guidance alongside six specialised workshops covering user interface and user experience design, market positioning, regulatory compliance and strategies for scaling apps. That marks a notable jump from the previous edition, which offered 140 hours of mentoring across 24 teams.

Among the 32 apps, education topped the list as the most common sector, with healthcare and longevity close behind. Fintech, artificial intelligence, social media and real estate rounded out the mix of industries represented.

The founders themselves hailed from a wide spread of countries, among them the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, India, Yemen and Jordan, a sign of just how far Dubai’s appeal reaches for entrepreneurs.

Notably, the accelerator caters to founders who did not make it through to the final rounds of the Create Apps Championship, giving them another route toward bringing their ideas to market.

It sits within the larger Create Apps in Dubai initiative, which keeps attracting thousands of applications and pushing the region’s app development sector forward.
