Background-
Dubai South Business Hub Free Zone has signed a partnership with Sony Middle East and Africa FZE, giving resident startups, SMEs and growing businesses access to Sony’s consumer and professional imaging and audio equipment on preferential commercial terms.
The agreement was formalized at a signing ceremony at Dubai South Headquarters and includes a programme of workshops and masterclasses covering content creation, digital marketing, brand building and business growth, delivered on-site by Sony specialists.
Under the collaboration, DSBH businesses gain access to two offerings, discounted pricing on Sony hardware and a curriculum of applied training built around the practical challenges founders face when building visibility and acquiring customers on limited budgets.
Saif Al-Ali, director of licensing and free zone management at DSBH, described the partnership as an extension of the support the free zone already provides beyond company formation, noting that working with partners who bring genuine expertise helps strengthen the ecosystem entrepreneurs rely on as they scale in the UAE and beyond.
Jobin Joejoe, managing director of Sony Middle East and Africa, said the collaboration reflects Sony’s broader regional ecosystem engagement, aiming to give founders access to imaging solutions as well as the knowledge needed to use them effectively.
Neither party disclosed the commercial structure of the pricing arrangement, and further details, including workshop schedules, are expected to be shared with the DSBH community in the coming weeks. Additional community initiatives and educational programmes are planned as part of the ongoing collaboration.
